Branding. Concepts. Ideas

InterContinental is coming back to Prague — but this time with history on its side.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has just signed InterContinental Prague, bringing the world’s first global luxury hotel brand back to the Czech capital. And the comeback setting? A storied 1839 building on Jeruzalémská 8, a onetime dance hall and theatre that later morphed into office space. Now, under Generali Real Estate’s stewardship, it’s gearing up for its most glamorous role yet.

Opening in the first half of 2029, the new 137-key InterContinental will land right in Prague 1, steps from the Main Railway Station and an easy stroll to Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and the Astronomical Clock. The location ticks every box for travellers who want Old Town charm without being swallowed by it.

And because Prague’s hotel scene loves a good plot twist: Remember the “old” InterContinental Prague, the iconic 1970s brutalist landmark on Pařížská? It stepped out of the IHG family and reopened this year as the Fairmont Golden Prague after a major transformation — giving the city both a reimagined classic and, soon, an all-new InterContinental with a completely different historical soul.

Two chapters, two architectures, two brands — one fascinating hotel city.
